The Alacritech SES2000 iSCSI Accelerator family is the industry's first product that accelerate the Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator. Based on Alacritech’s proven SLIC Technology®, the basis of industry-accepted TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) solutions, the Alacritech iSCSI Accelerator delivers unsurpassed iSCSI performance and efficiency.

Unlike iSCSI HBAs, the iSCSI Accelerator from Alacritech also offers industry-standard Ethernet link aggregation and failover functionality providing highly resilient and reliable storage networking interfaces. iSCSI Accelerators provide customers the fastest, most reliable IP storage data interfaces on Windows-based servers.

SLIC Technology – Architecture for Accelerated Storage Networking
Alacritech iSCSI Accelerators are based on the company’s patented, standards-compliant SLIC Technology. SLIC Technology is a Data Path Offload (DPO) architecture that efficiently accelerates TCP/IP protocol processing and iSCSI data delivery using Alacritech’s programmable Internet Protocol Processor (IPP) ASIC.

Products based on SLIC Technology are deployed in tens of thousands of systems worldwide including NAS appliances, IP storage devices, video/imaging clients and media servers, and enterprise-class servers.

Maximizing System Performance and Availability
Alacritech iSCSI Accelerators extend the storage scalability of Windows-based servers with support for industry-standard Ethernet failover and link aggregation, as well as higher-level MPIO based mechanisms. Link aggregation enables multiple iSCSI Accelerators to be connected to maximize server availability and increase IP storage bandwidth.

Along with IP reliability, Alacritech iSCSI Accelerators offer in-band management functionality, which allows customers to manage other iSCSI appliances and switches without requiring additional network ports on a server. This expanded network capability provides management support that no iSCSI HBA vendor can match.

New to the SES2000 family is iSCSI boot capability. This important functionality allows the deployment of diskless servers and clients doing a SAN boot from an iSCSI target.
