SLIC Technology – Architecture for Accelerated Storage Networking
Alacritech iSCSI Accelerators are based on the company’s patented, standards-compliant SLIC Technology. SLIC Technology is a Data Path Offload (DPO) architecture that efficiently accelerates TCP/IP protocol processing and iSCSI data delivery using Alacritech’s programmable Internet Protocol Processor (IPP) ASIC.

The Alacritech STA2000 IPP is the first wire-speed, multi-port gigabit Ethernet, hardware based TCP offload engine. SLIC Technology frees systems to focus on application processing by eliminating network processing bottlenecks including memory traffic, CPU interrupts and PCI traffic.
