Two-in-One Industrial Flatbed Printing System

Imagine a high-quality, industrial outdoor flatbed printer with the versatility of printing on rigid substrates, as well as printing on flexible goods through the simple conversion to a roll-to-roll printer.

Introducing the Toucan Hybrid - the Toucan Hybrid is based on Mutoh’s popular Toucan 64-inch, 6-color industrial outdoor printer (insert Toucan link). The Toucan Hybrid provides the best of both worlds with a printing system that delivers high-quality output on flat, rigid substrates, as well as providing output on flexible roll media.

The Toucan Hybrid, when configured in flatbed mode, accommodates rigid substrates up to 64" wide x 118" long x 3.5" thick. Print speeds and resolutions (up to 720 dpi) will vary depending on the substrate. The Hybrid’s flatbed mode head heights are adjustable to accommodate substrates from .08 to 3.5-inches thick. Lasers are used for precise head height adjustment. The Hybrid quickly converts to a roll-to-roll printer where it delivers typical production print speeds of up to 400 sf/hr and billboard quality printing of up to 800 sf/hr.

The Toucan Hybrid ensures outdoor durability of up to 3 years without lamination and up to 5 years with lamination. The Toucan Hybrid uses solvent-based ink with bulk ink reservoirs to allow refilling on-the-fly. A heavy-duty motorized feed and take-up system come standard and handle a wide variety of media effortlessly. Every Toucan printer features the Mutoh Thunderbird PostScript print server and ISIS Print Manager software, enabling you to spool and RIP multiple jobs from multiple PC or MAC clients on the network so you can keep one job going, while moving on to another.

Setting the pace for reliable performance, the Toucan utilizes the latest developments from Mutoh in motion control and media handling, and it comes complete with a 21GB HDD, pre and post- heaters, automatic take-up system, installation and on-site warranty service. This powerful printer is assembled at Mutoh’s ISO9000-certified facility by the world’s largest manufacturer of piezoelectric, large format printers.
