LeftHand Networks Announces Two New Industry-Standard Storage Platforms, the NSM 160 and NSM 260
NSM 260 Provided Thru New Partnership with Xyratex

STORAGE NETWORKING WORLD, ORLANDO, FLA. , October 24, 2005 — LeftHand Networks®, a leading provider of complete iSCSI storage area network (SAN) solutions built using patented clustered network storage technology, today announced the availability of two new industry-standard storage modules designed to work with LeftHand's SAN/iQ® software to build highly available and scalable iSCSI SANs. The Network Storage Module (NSM) 160 is a one or two terabyte unit, and the NSM 260 is a three or six terabyte unit sourced from Xyratex.

"Furthering LeftHand's strategy to combine SAN/iQ with industry-standard storage platforms, LeftHand continues to deliver NSMs that leverage the billions of dollars of industry R&D investment in developing state-of-the-art hardware," said Tom Major, chief strategy officer at LeftHand. "Today's announcements are an excellent example of how LeftHand is delivering best-in-class hardware to users through industry-standard platforms that provide users with choice and eliminate proprietary storage environments."

For large storage environments, the NSM 260 is available in both three terabyte and six terabyte capacities built using twelve 250 GB or 500 GB SATA drives. The box offers dual power supplies, dual NIC connectivity with failover, and hardware RAID capability.

"Xyratex are very pleased that LeftHand Networks have selected the HS-1235 Storage Appliance platform as an NSM for their leading iSCSI SAN," said Todd Gresham, senior vice president at Xyratex Storage Systems. "LeftHand's strategy of using industry-standard platforms allows their customers to take advantage of a value-added solution that leverages Xyratex's expertise in building enterprise-class storage enclosures."

With its one terabyte and two terabyte capacities, the NSM 160 is ideal for environments with lower capacity requirements. The 160 supports four 250 GB or 500 GB SATA drives, and offers the same high availability features as the NSM 260.

LeftHand is the technology leader in the iSCSI SAN market with over 3,000 systems installed in multiple industries and several patents in place for its SAN/iQ software. Demonstrations of LeftHand' s technology will be available in LeftHand' s booth C7, at Storage Networking World in Orlando, FL from October 25-28.

About LeftHand Networks

The company' s patented architecture increases data availability, allows users to start small and grow the SAN seamlessly, and simplifies management. The LeftHand SAN is ideal for primary storage and server consolidation, centralized backup, and the disaster recovery. For more information, contact LeftHand at info@lefthandnetworks.com.
