Power of Thunderbolt, Felxibility of USB - Thunderbolt I/O technology provides performance that no personal storage has been able to achieve, especially one that’s portable. Drobo Mini is equipped with dual Thunderbolt ports for daisy chaining. Connect up to six Thunderbolt devices and/or a non-Thunderbolt monitor at the end of the chain. The bidirectional 10 Gbps performance of Thunderbolt allows all devices in the chain to achieve maximum throughput. Drobo is the only storage array that offers Thunderbolt AND USB 3.0. It intelligently uses the high-performance flash in SSDs to accelerate performance of the storage array, allowing applications such as Adobe Premiere and Apple Aperture fast access to data. To keep capacity of the Drobo at a maximum, the Drobo Accelerator Bay accepts an industry-standard mSATA SSD, leaving all four 2.5” drives bays available for high-capacity HDDs.

Share Files Directly from Drobo
Drobo model B800fs connects directly to your Ethernet network to make sharing your data easy. Just plug it into any switch and you are ready to go.
The Drobo model B800fs has two Gigabit Ethernet ports that can be configured to fail over if one link fails, or can be set up to connect to two separate networks - one for your data and the other for Drobo Sync replication, for example.
Connect to Drobo, and access shared data, using any Windows or Mac computer. Drobo natively supports CIFS/SMB and AFP network protocols and NFS can be added by installing a Drobo App.
Offsite Data Protection
The Drobo model B800fs includes an intelligent and easy-to-use data replication tool that can seamlessly backup your valuable data from one Drobo to another somewhere on your network or across the Internet to a remote site. Having your data protected offsite guards you from a major disaster, resulting in peace of mind.

About iSCSI SANs
iSCSI can be used to connect storage directly to servers using a high-speed connection, or it can be used to create a Storage Area Network (SAN) with to 2, 5, or 10 plus servers.
With an iSCSI SAN, centralized storage is provided to each server over a high-speed
network and storage can be allocated or expanded instantaneously. Also, any single server does not tie up free space and there are fewer storage devices to maintain.
Figure 1 shows a dedicated iSCSI SAN for business-critical applications and server virtualization, which provides high performance, reliability, and security. Volumes created on a Drobo are assigned to a server, resulting in the server thinking it has locally attached storage.
